The in room refrigerator was well stocked but everything was luke warm, there was a complicated clock radio which was not on, there was no bar in the shower. Coffee was served in the lobby from 6-9am and I was informed that a minute after 9am there would be none left. If you wanted a coffee maker you would have to call down to the front desk. The room was not particularly well appointed, the Kleenex box in the bathroom had only one tissue remaining. The concierge who registered us was very pleasant however we were not shown to our room as we would have expected and therefore fumbled for the lights and had to make our own discoveries about this rather small "King Deluxe" room. A [perfect location as it was close to The Winter Garden Theater at which we were attending a matinee and an evening performance by the Royal Shakespeare Company. Looking forward to our overnight stay inNew York City, we reserved at the Muse Hotel on 46th between Broadway and 6th Ave. If the hotel stay experience warranted this fee, it wouldn’t be such an issue, but the street is a huge trash dump, with noisy construction going on through the night, the room has no coffee service, the bathroom is a sweltering hot box with no exhaust fan and horrible lighting to try and put makeup on ( the makeup mirror light didn’t work, the desk light switch broken )įree wine hour? I guess you don’t get anything free. We were NOT told that at check-in or I would have used it to get a mini bar snack! She just shrugged her shoulders and said I should have read it on their website, then turned her back! That’s when the manager came out and I voiced my complaint. When I asked what I was getting for my $25, the reception staff said FREE WIFI and internet and a $10 food drink credit! I said I was an IHG rewards member and that includes free WiFi she said, EVERYONE is charged the fee. The fee was not disclosed upon check-in, in fact, the afternoon staff told us they charge our VISA $100, which will be RETURNED when we checked out! Also, ones that do charge a fee, the fee is not standardized. It’s the individual hotel, as I checked Kimptons hotels websites around the world and some do and some don’t. Another reviewer was told that all Kimptons charge this fee, which was a lie. When I returned home, could not find this on Kimptons website, but you have to look at each hotel’s own website and this information is hidden in their amenities link. ![]() I did look at their website before booking but did not see anything about that. When I questioned this add on fee, I was informed that it was stated on their website. I am sorry to say that after 5 years of enjoyable Kimpton Muse experiences, we will not be returning to this hotel again due to rude manager response to my questioning there undisclosed $25 amenities fee at checkout.
